Dayle is an Assistant Professor at FSU College of Fine Arts - School of Theatre. She teaches voice, speech, accents, etc., and coaches voice and accent for FSU School of Theatre productions. She holds a MA in Linguistics from the CUNY Graduate Center and a MA with Distinction in Professional Voice Practice from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. In addition to being a Certified Teacher of Knight-Thompson Speechwork®, Dayle is also a Certified Practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education. Previous NYC Accent Coaching with the Hudson Stage Company, Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre, and Theatre for the New City. Previous teaching with Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, University of Central Florida School of Performing Arts, The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, The Broadway Experience, and the Brett Goldin Bursary program at the Royal Shakespeare Company while on her first masters. She has participated in workshops with renowned voice teachers/coaches including Cicely Berry, Andrew Wade, Lyn Darnley, Kristin Linklater, Barbara Houseman, Edda Sharpe, Christina Shewell, and others. Dayle holds a BFA with Honors in Drama from NYU Tisch and did her studio training with The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, studying foundational voice and speech with Alithea Phillips for three years.
Dayle's research interests include speech and accent, voice care and vocal health, applied pedagogy, and linguistic ideologies. Past and current research investigate topics from the field of voice and speech through the lens of theories from sociolinguistics, standard language ideology, linguistic anthropology, phonetics and phonology. Proud member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA), the International Feldenkrais Federation (IFF), and the Feldenkrais Guild of North America (FGNA). Member of the VASTA HealthCore committee.
