Born in Scotland and now based in Australia, Simon holds an MFA in voice from NIDA, a Post Graduate Diploma in music theatre from the Royal Academy of Music in London, and an MA in French and Spanish from Cambridge University.

He currently teaches voice, phonetics, accents, and singing in Sydney and beyond in a host of settings, from Masters and Bachelors degrees, Diplomas and short courses, to corporate environments, rehearsal rooms and private homes.

Together with fellow 2019 graduate Linda Nicholls Gidley, Simon runs This Is Not A Drill, a workshop-based company dedicated to sharing inclusive, playful, yet rigorous voice and speech training techniques with trainers across Australasia and Asia.

Simon also works as a freelance singer and translator.
