Cynthia is an Associate Professor at Yale School of Drama. She is a voice, speech and dialects teacher and has taught at California State University, Stanislaus, CalArts, UC Santa Barbara, University of Southern California, and CSULA. Some dialect coach credits: TV: Orange is the New Black (Netflix), The Affair (Showtime), Cymbeline (NY Classical), Quixote Nuevo (Denver Center) (RoundHouse), Scene With Cranes (RedCAT), El Huracán & Today Is My Birthday (Yale Rep), I Come From Arizona (Children's Theatre of Minneapolis), The Long Road Today/Diálogos (bilingual play)(South Coast Repertory ), In the Heights (Phoenix Theater) (Chance Theater), Broken Eggs, Anna in the Tropics, Marisol (USC). She is an actress member of SAG/AFTRA, Actors’ Equity and the Voice and Speech Trainers Association. She is also a certified Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Cynthia is bilingual (Spanish) and specializes in coaching in both languages. She is passionate about empowering diverse voices. She is co-editor of Scenes for Latinx Actors (Smith & Kraus) and co-editor Latinx Actor Training (Routledge 2023). She has a B.A. in Theater from the University of Southern California and an MFA in acting from California State University, Los Angeles.
