DESCRIPTION:ACTOR’S ACCENT TOOLKIT:\nAn Introduction to Knight-Thompson Speechwork for Performers \nWhen:\nSaturday\, October 9\, 12pm – 4pm\, PST\nSunday\, October 10\, 12pm – 4pm\, PST \nWhere:\nOnline via Zoom \nTaught by:\nTyler Seiple\nwww.accentcoachla.com \nPrice: $225\n($150 for members of Stuart Rogers’ Studios) \n$90 for repeat registration \nMaster Teacher Tyler Seiple leads an introduction to Knight-Thompson Speechwork for performers and public speakers. This eight-hour workshop focuses on understanding what accents are and the skills needed to develop them. With a tailored blend of discussion\, exercises\, and context-building\, students walk away with an understanding of the muscles that shape speech\, the patterns that make up accents\, and the tools they need to adopt any accent. It also introduces a more helpful\, KTS-based approach to the idea of “Accent Reduction\,” getting to the same result without shame or guilt. \nSpace is limited. DESCRIPTION:A Two-Day Online Intensive in Prosody\nA 4P Workshop\nWith Teachers Dawn-Elin Fraser and Tyler Seiple\nOctober 16th-17th\, 2021\, 8:00am-3:00pm Pacific Time. \nThere will be a daily meal break from 11:00am to 12:00pm Pacific. \nThe Prosody Intensive is an exploration of the descriptive and experiential skills of prosodic awareness and embodiment\, within the context of Knight-Thompson Speechwork. Open to anyone who has taken Experiencing Accents\, this workshop is designed to increase possibilities for perceiving\, describing\, and performing the various components of speech prosody\, including stress\, syllabification\, pitch\, duration\, and connectivity. We’ll explore the potential applications of these skills to English in an introductory way\, while leaving plenty of room for integration into inhabiting any variety of human communication. Participants of all experience levels are welcome\, as we’ll be focusing our work on the basics of prosody through play\, curiosity\, and experimentation. \nThis course will be online only. All documents and audio materials will be shared through an online platform. All sessions will be recorded and shared with participants. \n\n\nEarly Bird Registration at $250 USD is available through August 24\, 2021. The full registration fee is $275 USD. \nPlease note that Experiencing Accents is a prerequisite for this workshop. \n\n\nDeadlines\n\nIn order to plan effectively for these workshops\, it’s important to have a clear sense of the commitment of potential participants. For that reason we ask for a deposit of $100 USD to secure your place in the workshop. This is due six weeks prior to the start of the workshop\, on September 4th\, 2021. The full payment is due three weeks prior to the start of the workshop\, on September 25th\, 2021. If your plans change\, and you are unable to attend\, we will refund any payment less $75 USD if you inform us by October 2nd\, 2021. After that date\, however\, no refunds are possible. Please plan accordingly.
