DESCRIPTION:Monday\, November 17th at 5pm PST / 8pm EST \n\n\n\nTuesday\, November 18th at 9am SGT / 12pm AEDT \n\n\n\nSpeech language pathologists (or SLPs) work with clients for a variety of reasons\, some of which overlap with the work of artistic voice and speech professionals. Join SLPs Autumn Bryant\, Annie Jefferson\, Dr. Monica Johnson\, and Dr. Marianna Rubino for a panel discussion about where they see opportunities for collaboration\, how we can overcome barriers to work together\, and how working together might benefit all of our clients and students.   \n\n\n\nTickets for this webinar are $10. Registration will close 12 hours prior to the event and participants will then receive Zoom link information. All registrants will also receive the recording after the meeting has ended and been processed. \n\n\n\nConvert to your time zone here. \n\n\n\nAutumn Bryant\, MS\, MA\, CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) from Chicago. She holds a bachelor’s in sociology and a master’s in speech and hearing science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\, as well as a master’s in health communication from Northwestern University. She began her career in a large suburban school district before working in an outpatient pediatric clinical setting\, and later founded her private practice\, Griffin Speech\, Chartered\, coaching non-native English-speaking adults. Currently\, she works with international graduate students through Northwestern’s English Language Programs\, providing speech and language support to improve English proficiency. As Lead Instructor\, she trains a team of linguists\, SLPs\, and graduate student instructors\, and has initiated program-wide speech screenings\, streamlined referral processes\, and guided the development of the ATTUNE listening portal to enhance auditory discernment of English phonemes. \n\n\n\nAnnie Jefferson\, A New Orleans East native\, Annie is a certified member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)\, licensed to practice speech-language pathology in the states of Louisiana and Texas\, and graduated from The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (Drama) where she earned the Young Arts Merit Scholar Award. Annie continued her education earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from The University of New Orleans\, a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette\, and a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Southeastern Louisiana University. Annie works as a school and acute/rehabilitation SLP. She specializes in advocating for voice disorder prevention for the next generation of professional voice users and using her voice and platform to advocate for the needs of her students\, patients\, and caregivers. Annie enjoys collaborating with other disciplines\, sharing her expertise and experiences\, and presenting her professional passion to support and advocate for students through various platforms. \n\n\n\nDr. Monica L. Johnson\, Ph.D.\, L-SLP\, CCC-SLP\, is a speech-language pathologist with expertise in fluency disorders\, voice\, and counseling within speech-language pathology. She bridges traditional medical-based speech therapy with creative\, expressive approaches\, exploring innovative ways professionals from different disciplines can collaborate to enhance outcomes. In addition to her clinical work\, Dr. Johnson teaches graduate and undergraduate students in voice\, fluency disorders\, and research methodologies\, emphasizing client-centered\, evidence-based practice. She also regularly presents at conferences and workshops\, sharing insights on fluency\, voice\, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her research investigates the social and relational experiences of people who stutter\, informing her clinical work with a strong person-centered approach. Committed to empowering clients and families while inspiring the next generation of clinicians\, she fosters partnerships that unite research\, clinical practice\, and artistry in speech and voice. \n\n\n\nMarianna Rubino (she)\, MFA\, PhD\, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tulsa where she investigates personality\, identity\, and voice disorders. Dr. Rubino was a professional actress for many years\, appearing in classical plays\, improv comedy\, and commercials in Chicago\, New York City\, Houston\, and more. As part of her private practice\, Dr. Rubino has helped to habilitate and rehabilitate healthy performance voice in singing and non-singing actors.
