DESCRIPTION:A Two-Day Online Intensive in Prosody\nA 4P Workshop\nWith Teachers Dawn-Elin Fraser and Tyler Seiple\nOctober 16th-17th\, 2021\, 8:00am-3:00pm Pacific Time. \nThere will be a daily meal break from 11:00am to 12:00pm Pacific. \nThe Prosody Intensive is an exploration of the descriptive and experiential skills of prosodic awareness and embodiment\, within the context of Knight-Thompson Speechwork. Open to anyone who has taken Experiencing Accents\, this workshop is designed to increase possibilities for perceiving\, describing\, and performing the various components of speech prosody\, including stress\, syllabification\, pitch\, duration\, and connectivity. We’ll explore the potential applications of these skills to English in an introductory way\, while leaving plenty of room for integration into inhabiting any variety of human communication. Participants of all experience levels are welcome\, as we’ll be focusing our work on the basics of prosody through play\, curiosity\, and experimentation. \nThis course will be online only. All documents and audio materials will be shared through an online platform. All sessions will be recorded and shared with participants. \n\n\nEarly Bird Registration at $250 USD is available through August 24\, 2021. The full registration fee is $275 USD. \nPlease note that Experiencing Accents is a prerequisite for this workshop. \n\n\nDeadlines\n\nIn order to plan effectively for these workshops\, it’s important to have a clear sense of the commitment of potential participants. Participants of all experience levels are welcome\, from those seeking to expand their teaching strategies as well as those wanting to deepen their own understanding of how to use posture in accent performance. \nThis course will be online only. All documents and audio materials will be shared through an online platform.
