This eight-hour workshop focuses on understanding what accents are and the skills needed to develop them. With a tailored blend of discussion\, exercises\, and context-building\, students walk away with an understanding of the muscles that shape speech\, the patterns that make up accents\, and the tools they need to adopt any accent. It also introduces a more helpful\, KTS-based approach to the idea of “Accent Reduction\,” addressing the same goals without shame or guilt. \n\n\n\nSpace is limited. DESCRIPTION:Saturday November 9th 10 am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT \n\n\n\nJoin us for a panel discussion with dialect coaches Steven Eng\, Joy Lanceta Coronel\, and Jenru Wang as they discuss their work as it relates to coaching Asian accents in film and theater. He is co-founder of the nonprofit National Asian Artists Project in NYC. Passionate about East and Southeast Asian accents\, Jenru focuses on coaching and promoting authentic representation. He has served as Head of Voice at Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company and taught at several leading drama schools. Currently\, he is the Senior Voice Tutor at Mountview and continues his professional development under the mentorship of Kay Welch.
