EXPERIENCING SPEECH #18
A Six-Day Workshop in:
- the sounds of the world’s languages
- the physicality of speech actions
- descriptive phonetics
- the skills of formal and informal speech
Join KTS Master Teachers for Experiencing Speech in New York City from June 4th to June 10th 2016.
NYC, that most polygot of American cities, is the ideal place to experience Experiencing Speech! See theatre or visit a museum on June 7th—our ‘day off’—or just rest, process, and soak in the sounds of the city. The workshop will be held at a studio TBA in Manhattan. (In the past, we have often held Experiencing Speech at Chelsea Studios on West 26th Street.) The days will run from 10:00 to 6:00, though we may occasionally stop a bit early, depending on mental and articulatory exhaustion. We will finish at or 5:00 on the final day of the workshop, to facilitate travel home.

Workshop Costs
VASTA Members $800*
Non-members $900**
In order to plan effectively for these workshops, it’s important to have a clear sense of the commitment of potential participants. For that reason we ask for a deposit of $200 to secure your place in the workshop. This is due on April 24th. The full payment is due on May 15th. If your plans change, and you are unable to attend, we will refund any payment less $75 if you inform us by May 25th. After that date, however, no refunds are possible. Please plan accordingly.
